You can use the Display Show Measurement Fields option to list the measurement fields in N4. You can use the Edit Metafield form (on page 1) to change the display unit for the measurement fields. The Display Unit is the measurement unit that N4 displays as part of the field label in a data entry form or a column name in a list view.
When a user enters data in a measurement field, such as the Gross Weight of a container or the Minimum Temperature for a reefer, N4 uses the Display Unit as the default unit for data entry. N4 uses the Stored Unit that is specified for a measurement field to store data in the database.
You cannot edit the Stored Unit for a measurement field.
To modify the display unit of the field:
Log in at the highest scope at which you want to override the characteristics of a field.
You can override a field only at the current scope level or at a lower scope level.
In the Administration Settings
Fields
Fields view (on page 1), double-click the field you want to override.
You can also select the field in the list view and click .
The Edit Metafield form displays.
From the Scope area on the left, select the scope level at which you want to override the field characteristics.
Click Override.
N4 enables the fields in the Metafield Override area.
From the User display unit drop-down list, select the unit you want to assign to the field.
Click Save.
Click Cancel to close the Edit Metafield form.
After you save the changes to a field, you must select Actions Reset to propagate the changes to the forms and list views where the field is used. For example, if you change the Long Label for a field, you must select Actions
Reset to view the changes in the form where N4 displays the field.
N4 execute the Reset action only on the current node where you are logged in. If you have installed N4 in a cluster, you must execute the Reset action on each node so that the changes are propagated to all the instances of N4 in the cluster.
